One of my friends is not amused:

“Still early, but after $103B spent from of the $787B ARRA, little if any success is evident within our economy. Indeed the administration is claiming much success anyway. But the salvo delivered to business/consumer confidence will continue as “a great sucking sound” versus our economic advancement. Many who would borrow, can’t. And others who can, won’t… they must now save for retirement the old fashioned way.
The European Union’s slow swing toward the right represents their general stray from federalism. Alternately, Obama’s complete agenda is dependant upon federalism, while individual and state rights be damned. His 31 czars, and federal debt he’s chosen to foist upon generations of our people, simply declares his socialistic preference. His czars function unaccountably, indeed to blur any incompetence. The People’s functions (as with all things held in common) are due accountability.
Back to the economy, Obama has exploited commercial “bailouts”, moving them from bailout to takeover, shifting “power” from democracy to socialization. Your life is being affected, as for all Americans. Unemployment continues to boom, the economy cannot; jobs’ destruction continues, and federal spending is out of control. Americans are being promised, by a legislative locomotive, repair for a damaged health-care system, but only if the 53% of American tax filers who pay taxes, pay more. Indeed, we are back to the “tax and spend” syndrome. We’ve made political promises, of course without revenue to pay for them. The solution of “tax-the-wealthy” will evolve to the reality of tax the not-so-wealthy. The 47% who file without paying tax is our reminder for the evolution of democracy, not as its intended to be, but of the harsh risks attendant with majority rule.
Then there is this interesting tidbit from an otherwise disinteresting figure, Joe Biden. The VP told a meeting of AARP, “We have to spend money to keep from going bankrupt.” This, of course, according to Biden, is why we must pass the President’s health-care plan. Will Rogers is surely somewhere… and smiling.”

Oh, yeah and Mauldin has picked up on the European banks burning.
